Johnny Young

-President 

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since January 1997

-Received a BS degree in Landscape Design from Auburn University in 1992 

-30 years in the landscaping industry 

-Johnny is an outdoor enthusiast and considers himself blessed to work in the area he loves, the outdoors.  Upon graduating from Auburn, he working in the Birmingham area with a large landscape company for several years.  In 1994, he accepted a position with a development company in Baldwin County, where he grew up. This job allowed him to gain experience in design, installation, and maintenance of large, upscale projects.  The professional relationships he developed through these experiences have been integral in the success of Coastal Exposures Landscape, INC.  Johnny strives to find the perfect balance between his career and, "Life other than Work." He loves sports, fishing, hunting, and supporting his children in all of their extracurricular activities.

Michelle Young

-Vice President and Accounting Manager 

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since January 1997

-Received a BS degree in Restaurants and Hospitality Management with a Minor in Business from Auburn University in 1992

-21 years in the landscape industry off and on 

-Johnny and Michelle started the business in 1997.  They worked very closely together for many years.  Michelle then took several years off to raise her children and start a local restaurant, the Sugar Kettle Cafe.  She has recently returned to the family business.  Whenever she is not working at the Sugar Kettle Cafe or Coastal Exposures Landscape, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.

Chad Bengtson

-Maintenance Director 

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since May 2003

-Received an Associate's Degree in Landscape Operation Management, Landscape Design, and Turfgrass Management from Faulkner State

-15 years in the landscape industry 

-Chad has completed many certifications in the state of Alabama including: Setting of Landscape Plants, Landscape Design, and is recognized by the Alabama Certified Landscape Professionals Program for his knowledge of the industry.  During his career, his management skills have been essential to the success of Coastal Exposures Landscape, INC.  Chad has been involved in maintaining an array of jobs from smaller, residential projects to larger, commercial projects.  Chad has always been open-minded and willing to do whatever is necessary to help the company be successful.  He has worked as a spray tech, irrigation tech, and is now managing both Mobile and Baldwin County maintenance divisions.  In his free time, Chad enjoys boating, fishing, and hunting with his wife and three kids.

Steven Harrell - Landscape Achitect

-Landscape Architect

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since January 2018

-Received a BS degree in Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University in 1980

-37 years in the landscaping industry

-Steve is a registered Landscape Architect holding licensure in Alabama and Mississippi. He has been associated with award winning firms such as Hellmuth Obata & Kassabaum in St. Louis, Mo; The Brickman Group in Chicago, IllInois; and SiteWorks Studio in Fairhope, Al...which was one of six design studios with ValleyCrest Design group. Steve also has over 18 years experience owning and managing his own design firms in both Mississippi and Alabama. His work has been recognized by local ASLA chapters in Mississippi and Illinois, and his projects have been featured in Southern Living Magazine and Mississippi Magazine. Representative projects include: $13 million landscape renovation and master plan surrounding the National Historic Landmark District at NAS Pensacola, Fl.; Master Plan and site improvements to the Elvis Presley Birthplace Museum in Tupelo, Ms.; Colonial Traditions mixed use PUD in Gulf Shores, Al.; Whitehouse Creek Plantation 1200 acre Master Planned residential development in Spanish Fort, Al.; and Old Waverly gated championship golf course and residential development in West Point, Ms. His interest include Landscape Architecture, Architecture, art, old houses, family, and outdoor activities.

Brett Granger

-Installation Project Manager 

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since April 2017

-Received a BS Degree in Landscape Horticulture from Auburn University in 2008

-15 years in the landscaping industry 

-Brett began working at Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. during his high school summer breaks.  He is a local, graduating from Daphne High School, and has recently moved back to the area to be closer to family and friends.  In his time outside of work, Brett enjoys hunting, fishing, and boating with his wife and three kids.

Daniel Petersen

-Licensed Spray Tech and Account Manager

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since December, 2015

-Studied Horticulture at Auburn University and received an Associate's Degree in Landscape Operations Management from Faulkner State 

-10 years in the landscaping industry

-Received a Commercial Applicators License

Barry Shields

-Landscape Designer

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since May, 2008

-Received an Associate's Degree in Network Security from Fountainhead College of Technology in Knoxville, Tennessee.  

-12 years in the landscape industry

-Barry is a member of the Tennessee Board of Licensed Contractors.  He has designed many large jobs including the Tanger Outlet Mall in Sevierville, TN and the Tanger Outlet Mall in Pigeon Forge, TN.  In his free time, Barry enjoys relaxing on the beach with a fishing pole in hand alongside his two children and dog.

Alicia Bass

-Accounting Manager 

-Has been with Coastal Exposures Landscape, Inc. since June 2015 

-Received a BS degree in Business Management from Virginia Tech in Birmingham

-3 years in the landscape industry

-Alicia is a local currently living in Robertsdale, AL.  In her time outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her kids and grandkids, biking, gardening, and taking care of her flower beds.
